Miscarriage in Focus – QUAG Launches New Data Collection on Out-of-Hospital Care

Since 2024, the Society for Quality in Out-of-Hospital Midwifery Care (QUAG e.V.) has been collecting data for the first time on miscarriages managed on an outpatient basis by midwives. From the third year of data collection onward, gynecologists who offer outpatient care will also be included. The data is collected chronologically using a structured questionnaire via the platform www.perinatalerfassung.de, with the aim of establishing a long-term, continuous survey.

The project seeks to capture the outpatient support provided by midwives for miscarriages in a comprehensive way - focusing on the experiences of women who choose not to undergo immediate surgical intervention, as well as on the role and professional autonomy of midwives in non-clinical settings.
